Situated 8km from the port of Merichas, Hora or Messaria is the capital of the island and is adorned with typical Cycladic colors. On the hillside you will find whitewashed houses, cobbled streets, windmills, churches and steps waiting to be discovered. You can visit the churches of Saint Sava, the Sotira Church, the Agia Triada (Holy Trinity) and the monastery of Panagia tou Nikous which is located in a beautiful part of the village. Among the white houses, you will find small squares with cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy a drink or a meal in quiet atmosphere since there are no cars inside the village.
