Moudros could be characterized as the co-capital of the island, known both for its large port, which is considered one of the safest in the Mediterranean, and for the "Armistice of Moudros", which was concluded on October 31, 1918 between the Allies and Turkey and by which the World War I ended officially. You should definitely go for an evening walk in the picturesque port with the seafood taverns and pay a visit to the church of Taxiarchon.
