The first stop during your visit to Samothrace is Kamariotissa, located at the western end of the island. This is where the port as well as the starting point of the road network, which you will use during your perambulation, is located. The city was named after the homonym church, where the icon of Panagia from Kamares is kept. This is probably the most cosmopolitan place of Samothrace, since the island's nightlife is rounded up here flaring up the summer. You will also find organized pebbly beaches, which are clean as a whistle. Next to the cape you will find the small lagoon-wetland of Agios Andreas, while the island's wind turbines are towering in the distance.
