Trikala has been awarded as one of the 21 “smart” cities in the world. The city is crossed by Lithaios River, which connects the long history of the city with the new technological trends and the up to date services, which are available for citizens and visitors. So, the old churches, the fort, the traditional community Varousi and the Koursoum Mosque are perfectly combined with the free access to the Internet. Whichever season you choose to visit, the scenery with the imposing trees and the river flow across the city is magnificent and relaxing. A city with rich cultural heritage, the samples of which are displayed in museums and galleries, with picturesque communities as the old Manavika, which are full of life and the pedestrian zone of Asclepius street. Beside all that, however, Trikala offers a special privilege to its citizens, since they have an easy access to the fir forests and the traditional taverns of the picturesque communities of the prefecture.
