Type: Greek
The Greek restaurant “Panhellenion,” with a traditionally-flavored décor of the household implements of pre- and postwar Greece, is housed in a sixty-year-old stone and wood building. The dishes are homestyle, from the hands of Mrs. Soula, who has been cooking with love for years. In winter, try the boiled beef. In summertime, choose from among the traditional dishes such as soutsoukakia (half-way between a meatball and a sausage, with a hint of Oriental spicing), or briam (roasted veggies in a tomato sauce). Always worthwhile is the baked feta -a must try! Their ingredients are all sourced locally, fresh and pure, direct from Nature. Chief among them, the meats and cheeses for which the Trikala region is famed. The Panhellenion has been honored with the Greek Cuisine award, and in all its dishes makes use of the very emblem of Hellenic cooking, Greek olive oil. A friendly atmosphere, and tasty bites in an establishment trusted for many years by many visitors. (Plateia Dimarchiou/City Hall Square, Kalabaka)
