In Trikala you can visit Asclepiio, a place devoted to Asclepius, which is considered to be the first of all the Asclepiia that have been found. The excavations realized during 1902-1992 brought to light a part of a late Hellenistic building, a part of a Hellenistic stoa, a part of a roman bath and a late byzantine church.

The remains of the ancient city Pelinnaion are in the area of Palaiogardiki, at the north side of the area Petroporo, as it is called today. Parts of the city fortification are visible, as well as a significant number of tombs, that have been excavated round the wall.
