Access

By boat: Samothrace can be accessed only by boat. Therefore, there are daily itineraries by Saos Ferries from Alexandroupolis, which reach the island after a two and a half-hours trip. There is also an itinerary from Kavala and Lavrio once a week, which reach Samothrace after 4 and 11 hours respectively.

By plane: Samothrace doesn't have an airport with the nearest being those of Alexandroupolis and Kavala.

Domestic transportation

The visitor can move around Samothrace with the local buses (KTEL) and taxis. The bus itineraries depart every 2 hours (approximately) and connect Kamariotissa with Paleopolis, Therma, Chora, Alonia, Lakkoma and Profitis Ilias. For those beaches that are inaccessible by car, there is a small boat that departs from the port in Therma and goes the round of the island. The itineraries vary during the summer and you can ask for more information in the travel agencies located at the island's port.
