As the number of friends of mushrooms is increasing, meetings and excursions for discovering of mushrooms keep increasing. It is going to be the 10th year that friends of mushroom all around Greece will gather and spend three days dedicated to their favorite wild fungus. The festival will be held in Kastoria, on the 11th, 12th and 13th October 2013. The program includes excursions, seminars, competitions of truffle dogs, mushroom delicacies and concerts. The Mushroom Friends Association of Western Macedonia in cooperation with the Bevis-Melitis Florina Environmental Education Center will organize at the same time with the various events a Workshop with the subject: “Jewels of nature”.
09:00: The role of the Environmental Education Centers (Nikos Nanis, Head of the Bevis-Melitis Florina Environmental Education Center)
9:30: Learning about mushrooms, loving mushrooms – edible mushrooms of Florina (Zografos Stavros, Secretary of Mushroom Friends Association of Western Macedonia)
10:00-13:00: Search, identification and collection of mushrooms in the forest. The event will take place in Agios Vartholomaios, Florina (cultural events hall).

The first part will be presented by the President of the Mushroom Friends Association of Greece, George Konstantinidis. The second part will be presented by the President of the Mushroom Friends Association of Western Macedonia, Triantafyllos Tsambazis.
20:00 Distribution of mushroom soup - Lasagna with truffle and dry flap mushroom (wooden building)
20:30 Music concert in the wooden building with the band “Manitarock” (“Mushroom rock”), with G. Konstantinidis, D. Kleisiari, K. Kottas, D. Konstantinidis, G. Doumas. During the festival there will also be an exhibition and a local mushroom products bazaar in the outdoor space of the Environmental Protection Attorney of Kastoria (wooden building).
3rd Panhellenic Truffle Dogs Competition
12:00 Exploration of the foreign visitors of the event in Lake Kastoria, by a boat offered by the Municipality.
The event is organized by the Mushroom Friends Association of Western Macedonia and the Mushroom Friends Association of Greece, in cooperation with the Municipality of Kastoria, the Regional Administration of Kastoria, the Environmental Protection Attorney of Kastoria and the Environmental Education Centers of Kastoria and Florina.
