Winemakers Association of Nemea and the Municipality of Nemea organize for the 11th year, the GREAT DAYS OF NEMEA.
The GREAT DAYS OF NEMEA is an institution that is held every year in the region of Nemea but also with actions in the rest of Greece, with the aim of highlighting the wine PDO Nemea based variety Agiorgitiko, one of the most dynamic and renowned varieties in the world, but also the development of wine tourism in the region.
This year for the first time as part of the effort to develop wine tourism in the region, which has begun in recent years, the events will run throughout August.
So is will be earier for the thousands of visitors to plan their trip and attend the events.
The zone of Nemea includes 16 villages, while the region with the largest number of big and well organized wineries in Greece that exceed 40 and produce hundreds of branded wine labels.
The guests of GREAT DAYS OF NEMEA will have the opportunity to attend cultural events, visit the wineries, to talk personally with the winemakers, taste wines of their choice and to admire a unique landscape of natural beauty and environmental importance, full of vineyards.
They also have the opportunity to visit the archaeological site but also other nearby tourist destinations combined (Mycenae, Sicyon, Loutraki, Nafplio etc).
Also this year in the center of Nemea the Winemakers Association of Nemea have created a cultural center, where guests can taste all the wines of the wineries of Nemea zone and get information regarding the area, the Agiorgitiko and Wineries.
In this year's events, the archaeological site of Ancient Nemea, will honor the poet Titos Patrick, who will be declared ambassador of Nemea's wine.
