The incomparable beauty of mount Pilio and Agios Lavrentios are something more than an ideal place to host such an international organization.
This will be the 8th year! Every August, musicians not only from Greece, but also from other parts of the world meet in this village and take part in something so special that emits livelihood and creation. This festival is open for people from all walks of life and is an incredible way for children to come in contact with art even from their first steps.
As it is mentioned in the website, the Music Village is one of the biggest music communities in Europe. It was founded in 2006 by the musicians Thymios Atzakas, Kostas Makrigiannakis and Giorgios-Emanouil Lazaridis. Their aim was the programmed or impulsive expression of music ideas, works and events, the exchange of ideas and projects between international artists and people of art in general.
Well-known Greek and foreign artists coordinate masterclasses of team action, whose subjects aim at wider and substantive approaches of music, while innovative fields that have not yet been integrated into Greek educational system but are of vital importance.
Those that have already been to Agios Lavrentios keep coming back every year and tend to bring others with them as well. They all take part in an international developing community of artists and
intend to establish a creative symbiosis among artists, music lovers, locals and the natural environment and hoping to create an institution that will reinforce both creativity and human relations.
By enrolling in one of the seminars on offer you can also take part in any other workshop and come in contact with other people and exchange ideas about music, dance, narration and theatre.
