The 6th trail running race under the name of: «CORFU MOUNTAIN TRAIL 2017» has been announced. It will take place on Sunday 26th March 2017 in Corfu with a change in the route of 80km. The route starts from the village Ipsos, rises to the highest peak of the island, the mountain Pantocrator, passing by traditional villages of the northern part of Corfu as old Perithia, Petaleia, Perithia, Klimateia, Lakones, Paleokastritsa, will descend passing by the west coast near the golden beaches of Liapades, Myrtiotissa, Glyfada, Kontogialos, Agios Gordis, trail paths of one of the most beautiful sightseeing, overlooking the Adriatic sea and unite to village Stogili, at the 24th km of the route of the race of 40km and will follow it to end up and finish at the village of Benitses. The event includes 4 tracks of: 8km, 17km Olive TREE TRAIL, 40km RAIN TRAIL and 80km NIGHT-DAY TRAIL. What is required for participation in the race of 80km NIGHT-DAY TRAIL: -Be a finisher to a 40km mountain race in the last two years, at least. - Required equipment. The race has been certificated by INTRA and gives the competitors qualifying points for UTMB depending on the route. The altitude difference of NIGHT-DAY TRAIL 80 km route is 4400+ meters, of the RAIN TRAIL 40km route is 2300+ meters, and of the OLIVE TREE TRAIL 17 km route is 1020+ meters.
REGISTRATION
Registration for participation in the races of CORFU MOUNTAIN TRAIL 2017 and payments will be carried out through the website www.corfumountaintrail.com from 15/10/2016 until 28/2/2017 strictly. Athletes who will arrive from abroad, will have the opportunity to be informed about their stay on the website of the organization: www.corfumountaintrail.com. The Corfu International Airport will be in full operation, due to the start of the tourist season, therefore most of the flights will have direct destination to Corfu.
