A small island that upon first sight gives the impression of being deserted. Slowly, among the bushes, you begin to see the heads of aficionados of the Mikres Cyclades, who choose Kato Koufonissi for free camping and direct contact with the Cycladic aura, the sapphire sea, and the unforgettable summer nights under the starry Greek sky. There one can visit the chapel of the Panagia (Virgin Mary),  Detis beach and the taverna of Venetsanos, a locale so full of life as to be a bit out of place amid the serenity of the island. If only all visitors could read the Greek on the signs, if just for a moment,  to appreciate the bohemian flair of this destination taverna. No permanent settlement nor inhabitants exist in Kato Koufonisi,  only the summer visitors, be they veterans or newcomers.
