Custom of the lighted yew: One of the most famous customs of the prefecture that takes place in many villages and not during a particular period. If someone visits the house of friends or relatives, he holds a branch of lighted yew. According to the general belief, this symbolizes the act of the shepherds that visited Jesus the night he was born.
Custom of Fire in Agia Theodora: In the parish of Agia Theodora in Good Thursday people make a fire in the church yard that symbolizes the fire that have made Jesus disciples for his arrest.
Festival of Theater of Arachthos in Tzoumerka: This successful festival is organized since 2005 and includes theater and traditional music performances. Participations come from the local clubs and from other parts of Greece.
