At Mitropoleos Street on the sidewalk, beneath a huge and kind of charmless building (where the Ministry of Education was housed until recently), you will come across the chapel of Agia Dynami, always attended and adorned with flowers. It belongs to the monastery of Penteli and until recently was known as the Metochion of Rodaki named after the picturesque neighborhood of Athens. It was built during the first years of the Ottoman Empire, as a small single-aisled Basilica with a wooden roof, and is dedicated to the Annunciation of the Theotokos. In Agia Dynami is kept the sacred relic of Agios Nikolaos Planas, who had ministered as a parish priest in several churches of Athens and was declared a saint of our Church in 1992.
