The National Garden is a green oasis with plants from all over the world in the center of the bustling city. It was founded in 1839 on the initiative of the first queen of Greece, Amalia, and since then it is the ideal place for a walk under the shade of its towering trees, which are tagged with their name. In the Garden, you will see a pond, benches under the trellises, a small zoo, a botanical museum, and the busts of Kapodistrias, Valaoritis and of other eminent men as well as other sculptures. Last but not least, there is also a small cafe.
