While visiting the port town of Rafina, there are a couple options for a swim. A very short distance from the port is the beach called Marikes. A small but beautiful sandy beach, surrounded by lush trees, offering the secluded coves to its right as an alternative, for those who want some privacy. It is not heavily organized, but the pleasant beach bar will cover your essential needs. The rocky bay that embraces it protects it from the winds. If you tire of beach going, pay a visit to the Roman-era site of Vallaneion, still in midst of excavations. The other swimming option is Kokkino Limanaki (red harbor) a small beach also at a short distance from the port town of Rafina. You will not find sunbeds or umbrellas, since the beach is not organized, but rest assured you will get some shady space in the lush greenery behind you to spread out your towel. To get to Kokkino Limanaki head to the street Kyprion Agoniston (Cypriot Fighters) from the central square of Rafina, and at the end of the road you will see signs that will lead you to your destination.
