A cave in Attiki, located on the southwest side of Mount Aigaleo, it is particularly rich in paleontological findings. With excavation resumed in 2006 and continuing to this day, many important finds have come to light, dating to the first inhabitation of the cave from the 11th to the 7th millennium BC. In addition to various boneware artifacts, an important finding is that of Miliote obsidian, dating from of 12,000 BC, evidence of the earliest recorded seafaring trade. The archaeological evidence suggests that the residents subsisted on fruit picking, hunting and fishing. Their diet may have included birds, fish, shellfish, hares, deer and a breed of horse that is now extinct. Paleobotanical study reveals the presence of wild plants such as lentils, barley, oats, peas, fruits and nuts.
