Cheese products: Ios is well-known for its cheese products, the renowned Niotika (from Ios) cheeses that you should not leave the island without tasting them. The variety of Niotika cheeses includes "kefalotiri" (a kind of cheese), gruyere, "ksino" (a soft cheese with a light sour flavor), "skotiri" (soft cheese with a spicy flavor and aroma of savory which has gotten several distinctions for its flavor) and "mizithra" (soft cheese), which also has excelled for its quality. In the port, you will also find a dairy shop where you can buy several cheese products of Ios.

Herbs: Like the rest of the Cyclades, Ios has a wide variety in herbs, with the weather conditions adding to the quality of their perfume. Therefore, you will be able to gather or buy oregano, thyme, sage, pennyroyal etc. depending on the season. In Ios, you will also find caper and high-quality honey with which the traditional "pastelia" are made.

Traditional sweets: "Myzithropites" (pies with "myzithra" cheese) with Niotiki "myzithra" adding flavor, almond toffees with almond kernel, eggs, sugar and rose water, cured figs, "avgokalamara" (fried sweets), "xerotigana" (also fried sweets) and, last but not least, "karpouzopita" (the kernel of watermelon, baked with honey, sesame, cinnamon, flour and oil) also known as Mosenta.

Traditional recipes: In the restaurants of the island you can taste some of the traditional recipes of Ios such as revithada (chick-peas), revithokeftedes (chick-peas balls), tsimetia (stuffed vegetable marrow flowers), stuffed chicken and goat as well as handmade noodles.
