Access

By boat: Kalymnos Island is easily accessible, since there are daily itineraries available from Piraeus to the Dodecanese that also stop at Kalymnos and the journey takes about 10 to 12 hours. Kalymnos port is also connected with Mastichari port of the neighbouring Kos, as well as with the ports of Rhodes, Leros, Patmos, Symi, Kastelorizo and Astypalea.

By plane: The airport of Kalymnos is directly connected with the airport of Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” with a 40-minutes flight. It is also connected with the airports of Kos, Leros and Rhodes. From the airport you can take the bus, especially during the summer months, otherwise a taxi.

Local transportations

The island is not too big, but there are a few buses connecting main villages, while there are also taxis available. However, in order to explore the island better, you can also rent a car.

Marinas: If you travel with your own boat you can anchor in Pothia and Vathy ports, where you can also get supplies, as well as in Pserimos port, on a small island near Kalymnos.
