23 April: Festival in honor of St. George, in the church of Chora, where the procession of the icon is followed by traditional food, wine, music and dancing.
Last Saturday of June: The Fisherman's Festival could not be missing from an island so integrally connected with fisheries. A day dedicated to fishermen and fish, locals prepare the kakavia soup for all attendees at the pier, who spurred on by the sounds of traditional instruments quickly turn to dancing.
20 July: Day to honor the Prophet Elias and his namesakes. Those celebrating offer treats to guests, and sponsor and small celebrations.
15 August (The Dormition of Virgin Mary): Day of intense celebrations all over the islands Cyclades. In the case of the Koufonisia, the festivities take place in Kato Koufonisi at the seaside chapel of the Panagia(Virgin Mary). Believers are transported by caiques, and after the religious ceremonies food and wine are offered freely and the feast begins accompanied by the sounds of traditional instruments.
