On the northeast side of the island is the village of Agia Pelagia with its wonderful beach. Gray sand, clear waters and endless fun with raketes, a popular pastime combining elements of badminton and ping-pong, played on the sand. It is an organized beach that also offers cafes, restaurants and accommodations. Because of the amenities available, the beach is largely preferred by family-vacationers.
