Access
There are boat connections to Kythnos from both the port of Piraeus and Lavrion. The journey, depending on the type ship, varies from 1 hour and 15 minutes to 2 hours and 40 minutes. There are also connections with Syros island and other islands of the Cyclades, depending on the season.

- Marinas:Loutra: 5 km from the town, there is a marina in the village of Loutra, providing protection from north winds. Merichas: The main marina of the island is in Meriha where you can buy fuel, water and basic necessities.
- There is a boat from Mericha making trips to the island of Agios Lukas. The island is connected to Kythnos with a piece of land which makes access on foot very easy.
