The Church of Agios Ioannis of "Antzousis", built in 65 AD by the Franks, according to historical sources is the oldest Christian monument in Lefkada. In the cave where the chapel is located, the apostles Paul and Akylas spoke for the first time to the inhabitants of the area about Christ, while at the same time they installed the first bishop, the student, Sosion. The temple is located on the edge of the beach of Agios Ioannis (to which it gave its name) and celebrates in the Abbot of St. John the Baptist on 29/08 and in the memory of St. Akyla on 14/07.
