An important museum with finds from the Middle Palaeolithic to the Roman times. In a special hall of the museum are displayed finds from the excavations of the archaeologist Goulielmou Dairpfeld, who in the early 20th century was seeking in the island evidence to prove the theory according to which the island of Lefkada is identical to Homer's Ithaca! His name was given to one of the city's main pedestrian streets.
