On the top of the hill you can admire a big part of the Mycenaean wall, which was built in the 13th century BC in order to surround the Acropolis. Excavations have revealed the ruins of five buildings, probably houses of the post-geometric era (8th century BC). The eight rectangular towers that were built in order to reinforce the ancient wall also date from the 8th century BC. Today, ruins from the three sides of the wall that surrounds the plateau are maintained. To the east, at the most precipitous part, is the church of Agios Andreas, dating from 1701. The archaeological area of Agios Andreas and the exhibition of the findings are open every day except Monday from 8:30 until 15:30.
