Access

By car: You can use your own mean so that you can also reach some hardly accessible regions of the prefecture. Otherwise you can use the bus service. In case you prefer train traveling you can go to Thessaloniki and then using the bus service you can reach Chalkidiki Prefecture. The distance between Thessaloniki and Polygyros, capital of Chalkidiki Prefecture, is about one hour.

By plane: There is no airport in Chalkidiki Prefecture but Thessaloniki Airport “Macedonia” is at a short distance and is connected with all of greek airports and many international ones. By boat: In Chalkidiki there are some small ports but they are not connected with other Greek ports. You can always use Thessaloniki port or Kavala port, since they are connected with the rest Greek ports. However the prefecture is full of small ports and marinas that can host small boats.
