Access

By car: Imathia Prefecture is located in central Macedonia and is surrounded by Thessaloniki, Kozani, Pieria and Pella Prefectures. It’s an easily accessible prefecture by car since the road network is in good condition. For example the distance from Athens to the capital of the prefecture Veria is 510km, from Thessaloniki 90km, from Kozani 60km, from Katerini 75km and from Edessa only 50km.

By plane: There isn’t an airport in Imathia Prefecture and the nearest ones are in Kozani and Thessaloniki. In Kozani there are four flights per week from Athens, while Thessaloniki’s airport receives daily flights not only from Greece but also international ones.

By train: There is train connection between Veria and Naousa, Athens and Thessaloniki. For itineraries from Athens you have to step off in Platy and get the train from Thessaloniki in order to reach your destination. But from Thessaloniki there are daily itineraries.
