On the hill of Prophet Ilias (altitude: 1071 meters), above Konitsa, there is an organized take-off area if you want to try parapente.
Hang-gliding Word Cup races have also taken place here. On this hill, from where you have a great view of the mountains and all the area (plain of Konitsa, Tymfi, Trapezitsa, Smolikas, Kleftis, Grammos, Nemertzika), you have access through a 2,5 kilometers long asphalt-road that starts from the chapel of Agios Athanasios above Konitsa.
