On the road towards the harbor of Pisaetos and on a hill you will meet the ruins of an ancient city. The inscription found, suggests that this was the town of Alalkomenes. The archaeologist Erick Sliman, however, says that this was the palace of Odysseus. Although its identity remains unknown, it is an ancient city with an impressive view. The coins that where found here with the carved heads of Odysseus and Athena, are exhibited in the archaeological museum of Vathy.
