The cave of Poseidon is located in Myli and can be accessed only by boat. It is speculated that a sanctuary dedicated to the God of the sea, Poseidon, or the goddess of love, Aphrodite, was housed in this cave. The speculations about Aphrodite arose due to the excavation of several figurines of the goddess in the surrounding area.

Northeastern of Olympos, on the edge of the cape Vroukountas is situated a large natural cave. At its opening is the church of Agios Ioannis.
