On this Aegean island people respect their tradition with a lot of ongoing festivals every year. People of Kasos, with the company of lyre, lute and the festive mood, organize their famous festivals and they offer traditional dishes and lots of wine. The biggest one takes place on the 15th of August in the village of anagia. Other important festivals take place on the 17th of July on St. Marina’s Day, on the 12th of December on St. Spyridon’s Day, while on the 8th of September the Church of Virgin Mary of Eleros where there are the traditional “mitata” (huts) of the shepherds, celebrates and the shepherds make cheese and other dairy products.
Finally, every year the famous tenor Marios Fragoulis, who was born in Kasos, gives a concert in Bouka port attracting many locals and visitors.
