Access

By car: Kavala Prefecture belongs to the District of East Macedonia and borders with the prefectures of Thessaloniki, Serres, Drama and Xanthi and also the Aegean Sea. Egnatia Road connects the prefecture with the rest regions and the road network is quite good. The distance from Thessaloniki to the capital of Kavala is 155km, from Serres 115km, from Drama 38km and from Xanthi 55km. The distance from Athens is quite big, 655km.

By plane: “Megas Alexandros” airport is 30km away from Kavala. There are daily flights from Athens and other Greek cities available. There is also connection with many cities abroad and the number of these flights is larger during summer.
