The Maritime Museum is an integral part of the history of Kavala, a city of maritime affairs and fishing activities since the ancient times, as every shipping route from Minor Asia, South Greece and the Aegean Sea used to stop at the port of Kavala. The shipbuilding was a favorite art that flourished at the so-called “blue city”. The maritime past, present and future οf this city was the reason for the establishment of this museum that includes the entire centuries-old maritime tradition of this region. A rich variety of displays and naval ships of the old times are part of the museum’s heritage and a great tourist attraction.
The museum is located near the central port of Kavala, 400 m away from Esperia Hotel.
Admission is free.
