The Historical and Literary Archive of Kavala operates since 1996 as a non-profit institution, which keeps a rich collection of written documents as well as audiovisual material on the history of Northern Greece in general and of Kavala in particular. It operates as a museum-library and counts more than 30,000 books, journals and newspapers from the 16^th century until today.
