Puppetry and Pantomime International Festival: This special festival is organized in Kilkis since 1999. Every year it becomes more and more successful and attracts more and more participants from Greece and around the world. Theater performances, pantomime and educational seminars are part of the festival.

Kourbani: People honor St. Tryfonas on the 1^st of February in Goumenissa. People of the village donate some money and they buy a calf that is grilled outside the church and is offered to the visitors along with wine, while calf’s head is auctioned to cover the expenses.

Festival of Chestnut-Wine and Cheese: A big feast goes on in the village of Griva in Paionia on the last Sunday of October with a lot of chestnuts, traditional music, dance, quality wine and cheese.

Cherry festival: This festival takes place in the end of May in the village of Filyria. A feast between Pontus and Macedonia takes place along with cherries that are shared to the people, while if you attend this event you’ll have the chance to buy fresh cherries and various pastries.
Celebrations in honor of some Saints are organized in the whole prefecture during the whole year. Whenever you visit Kilkis, you’ll have the chance to attend to one of those or attend a custom, such this of Klidonas and some customs of Christmas and Easter, not only in Kilkis, but also in the prefecture villages.
