“Mamoeroi” or “Momogeroi”: From the 27th of December to the 6th of January a custom of Pontiac origin takes place in Komnina. Its routes come from the period of the Turkish occupation, when the soldiers went to the villages disguised to prepare the revolution.
“Parcharia”: Another Pontiac custom in Komnina and in Agios Dimitrios that revives the last Sunday of July. “Parcharia” was a traditional feast that was set up to welcome the shepherds from the mountains.
“Kladaries” and “Mpoumpoutsaria”: In Siatista on the 23rd of December revives the custom of “Kladaries”, where people lit big fires in every neighborhood of the village and on the 6th of January revives the custom of “Mpoumpoutsaria”, where the village people dress up.
“Horsemen of Siatista”: This spectacular custom revives in Siatista every year on the 14th of August. On Virgin Mary’s Day Eve horsemen along with their horses spend their night in the Monastery of the Virgin Mary in Mikrokastro and on the 15th of August they doll their horses and go to the village for a traditional feast with dance.
