A place of impressive beauty, which used to cover 20.000 acres, being part of the flora of Mt Othris, but now only covers 1.150 acres. It’s considered an aesthetic forest, in order for the natural environment and the opportunity for recreation it provides to be protected. It’s the second largest forest in Europe which is covered with oak of the Quercus pubescens species. In Kouri you will find, aside from the beautiful natural environment, 2 manmade lakes, a small train (which goes around the forest, usually on holidays), one outdoor-chess, 2 basketball courts and a tennis court. During your stroll, you may see different animals like wild goats, deer, geese, ducks, swans and peacocks.
