In Petrovouni hill the tower dominates, built by Captain Kapetanakis in the late 18th century. The Kapetanaki family played an important role during the Revolution of 1821. It is worth the visit for its panoramic views over the Messinian Gulf, the impressive three-story tower, the fortifications which includes around 100 battlements and defense towers but also for the small church of Profitis Ilias and the tanks used to gather the rainwater.
