This is the most famous beach of Milos because of its unique landscape… a narrow strip of sand between white volcanic rock against which the deep blue of the water stands out even more. It’s no wonder this beach is a favorite for photographs!
For those who feel like swimming a bit further and exploring, there are many small coves formed by the white rocks intertwining with the sea. There are also fossils to be found so don’t forget to look out for them!
The name of the beach comes from the Sarakino Pirates who used the beach as shelter. One can still make out the carved shackles which were used to tie the ships to the rocks.
