Papafragas is located right next to the archaeological site of prehistoric Phylakopi. It took thousands of years for nature to create the unique landscape of Papafragas. Narrow strips of land that resist corrosion create coves, caves and openings in which the Aegean hums. One needs to be careful climbing down to the small sandy beach but swimming with cliffs rising around you will be a unique experience. Of course do not only stay on the beach, explore the surrounding area which is beautiful and let your imagination take you back to the times when rugged landscape and protected bays of the area were hiding places for pirates.
