For many people it is synonymous with the clear blue beach, however, the village of Drios, which is located 25 kilometers from Parikia, magically combines the shades of blue and green in a settlement with homemade delicacies and historical background. In particular, it was the ancient port of the island, a fact which is apparent by the grooves on the sea rocks, from where pirate and commercial boats were supplied. Don’t forget to visit the places that protected the ships, the “ancient ship sheds”, and, for the more adventurous, to wander in the narrow “cave of the demons” or the “cave of Kalampakis” to see stalactites and stalagmites.
