Easter: Easter in Patmos is unique. During Holy Week the whole island follows the Monastery, creating a special atmosphere. All ceremonies are conducted according to the characteristic way of Patmos.

Taste and Tradition Festival of Patmos: The traditional Greek food is honored every year during the summer months on Patmos. Every year, a different area of Greece and its specialties finds itself in the spotlight. The festival is organized with the cooperation of the cultural organizations of Patmos and nearby islands. The best dishes are judged by famous gourmets, and the festival is a local institution for the island. If you want to watch, the events take place in the harbor of Patmos.

International Film Festival of Patmos: Although it started only in 2010 by a group of Greek and foreign directors who love the island, this festival has attracted many actors, directors and cinema-lovers. During the festival, movies and documentaries of short- and feature-length are shown. A special area in the square of Agia Levia in Chora houses the Festival every June.

Religious Music Festival of Patmos: Such a festival could not be missing from the island of the Revelation. A special festival that takes the visitor away, along some different music paths. With the cave of the Revelation in the background, the festival has taken place in late August since 2000. Lots of international musicians specializing not only in Byzantine music, but also in electronic music and visual effects have participated. During the festival, music workshops for children are organized.

Religious feasts
Virgin Mary of Geranos: On the 14^th of August a feast takes place in the Church of the Virgin Mary of Geranos till late at night.
On the eve of the Cross (13^th September) a feast is organized in Diakofti. During Easter, there are some special customs on Patmos such as the reenactment of the Last Supper and of the Descent of the Cross in the monastery of Saint John the Theologian.
In addition, on the 22^nd of August there is a feast in the honor of the Virgin Mary of Charos in Lipsoi (1 hour by boat and half an hour by speed boat) and on the 23^rd there is a feast in Arkioi.
