Access

By car: Another prefecture of Macedonia is that of Pella, only 90 kilometers away from Thessaloniki. Its distance from Athens is of course much longer as it is 560 kilometers away from the capital. However, the road network is in very good condition. Moreover, Pella is 85 kilometers away from the city of Kozani, 50 kilometers way from Veria and just 35 kilometers from Naousa. In case you decide to use your own car, you will have the chance to get to know the prefecture and its natural environment much better as the public means of transport do not cover the entire area.

By bus: If you do not have your own car, you can use the buses to visit different areas inside and outside the prefecture. The capital of the prefecture is connected with an often itinerary with Athens, Thessaloniki and other big cities as well. Furthermore, there are local itineraries available.

By plane: The airport of Thessaloniki is the most suitable if you want to get to Edessa. However, at a shorter distance you will also find the airport of Kozani that has only a few flights. In Kozani there are only four flights per week from Athens in contrast to Thessaloniki that accepts daily flight from all over Greece and abroad as well.

By train: The railroad to Edessa uses the route Skudra-Naousa-Veria and goes through some evergreen areas.
