Access

By car: Preveza Prefecture is located in west Greece in the coast of the Ionian Sea and its capital is Preveza. To reach the prefecture from Athens you have to head to Patra, cross Rio-Antirio Bridge and through Etoloakarnania Prefecture reach Preveza through a distance of 380km. The distance from Thessaloniki is about 350km through Ioannina. From neighboring prefectures, Igoumenitsa is about 90km away from Preveza, Ioannina 100km away, Arta 50km away and Agrinio about 100km away. There is also the Aktio-Preveza underwater road.

By plane: The airport in Aktio has often itineraries from Athens and during summer they are more often for the passengers’ service. Although the city belongs to Etoloakarnania Prefecture, the connection with Preveza is very easy thanks to the underwater road.

By bus: Prefecture’s Buses make often itineraries to the neighboring prefectures, but also to Athens and Thessaloniki. For example, there is a connection with Igoumenitsa, Ioannina, Aktio, Patra, Parga, Lefkada and other cities. Domestic transportations are also available with Preveza Buses. By boat: There is a coastal connection of the prefecture available through Igoumenitsa. The distance from the Ionian Islands and Italy is around 90km away. There are also cruises to Paxoi and Lefkada available.
