During winter the island of Psara only a few inhabitants stay there to take after the island. Although Psara keep its island image irrespective of the time of the year, life on the island isn’t always easy. However, during summer everybody celebrates.
On the 22^nd of June every year people celebrate the Holocaust anniversary and on the 15^th of August they transfer the icon of the Assumption of Mary from the monastery to the church of the Transfiguration, while a festival is also organized.
It is worth visiting during summer and on September in order to take advantage of the offered facilities.
