This is without question the most known place in the island of Rhodes, a valley of natural beauty that creates a sense of tranquility. The towering trees and running waters, which create streams and small lakes, compose the perfect harmony and the ideal place for its residents, which are none other than the well-known butterflies, some of which are rarely encountered throughout the world. You can observe them from the 10th of June till the 10th of September, during which a large number of butterflies swarms for breeding and covers almost all the surfaces of the trees. In addition, during this period and throughout the year, the visitors of the valley should be very careful with their movements and should not make noises because the breeding and the subsistence of the butterflies will be disrupted. Furthermore, you will encounter two more animals: the small crabs, which are found throughout the valley, and turtles, which you will see swimming in small, tranquil ponds. At the entrance of the valley is located the Natural History Museum of Rhodes, with various exhibits that are mainly about the butterflies. This natural biotope is just a few kilometers from the city of Rhodes and can easily accessible; you will only have to pay a small amount of money for your admission.
