Kamari is the largest coastal settlement of Santorini and has had a lot of touristic development. Visitors enjoy the long beach, which is organized for the most part, while along the sea there are shops and restaurants. Kamari is ideal for evening strolls on the paved road, with street artists exhibiting their works and the smell of roasted corn hovering in the air. From Kamari it is easy to access Ancient Thira, the Byzantine church of Episkopi, as well as Profitis Elias. Walking up the road to Ancient Thira you can visit the small church of Zoodochos Pigi (meaning ‘Life Giving Source’), which is perched on the rocks, and has a beautiful view of the entire settlement of Kamari. There are frequent buses between Fira and Kamari.
