In this museum the maritime history and tradition of Santorini are presented. It was established with the initiative of captain Antonis Dakoronias and it is housed in a captain’s mansion. On the two floors of the museum accessories of maritime equipment are exhibited, like sextants, compasses, etc., as well as tools from the two shipyards of the island. In the basement there is also a library with old books of captains, manuscripts, logbooks, nautical maps, charter-parties and other things. On the first floor there are costumes and portraits of captains from Santorini, ship models and a photographic collection of the maritime life of the region. Visiting hours: Daily: 10:00-14:00 & 17:00-20:00 except Tuesday.
