A magnificent venue, housed in the 17th century mansion of the Frankish Gyzi family with its separate internal courtyard. In 1980 it became a cultural center and its permanent exhibition includes engravings with Cycladic landscapes, maps, public and private documents which provide much information on the life of the island from the 16th to the 19th century, as well as photographs. In the Megaro Gyzi you will also see rocks of Theran earth, as well as paintings. This venue hosts fine art exhibitions, musical events, theatrical performances and film screenings, in particular during the summer months, with the most famous being the Megaro Gyzi Festival every August. Visiting hours: 10:00-16:00 except Sunday.
