The route starts from the paved path of the caldera in Fira and climbs up to Imerovigli village which is now united with Firostefani and Fira. From the highest point of Imerovigli, the trail descends to the narrow stairs, passing over the Skaros hill. The path continues around the hill, offering a unique, yet different, perspective of the caldera. The more adventurous have the opportunity to climb over some ruins on the northern side of the hill to the top. On the top there are some remnants of the castle of Skaros, and you can see one of the most beautiful sunsets with its colors slowly flooding the caldera. On the way you will find the Church of Agia (St.) Theodosia, protector of the castles, while on the slope of Skaros you will see the small church of Panagia Theoskepasti. (approx. 40 ')
